A Reminder on Car Window Tinting Regulations

Victoria Police recently launched 'Operation Clear View', where cars were checked for levels of illegal window tinting.

This was done in response to a number of motor accidents said to have been caused due to excessive levels of tinting.

Home Energy Ratings Raised to 6-Star Minimum

Home energy efficiency standards around the country are in the process of being upgraded as governments mandate greener households. The current Home Energy Efficiency rating of 5-Star in many states is being upgraded to a more stringent 6-star standard. The current system ranks the energy efficiency of the heating and cooling ability of homes from 1 to 10 stars.

Darker Car Tinting now Legal in South Australia

Recent changes to the laws concerning window tinting in South Australia now enable the front passenger and driver side windows of vehicles to be tinted darker than was previously available.
 
From January 1st 2010, the minimum legal Visible Light Transmission (VLT) of these windows is now 35%, which now means South Australia has the same laws as other states around the country.
 
Visible Light Transmission is the measurement of light that passes through a surface.  The higher the VLT, the more light is let through.
