Darker Car Tinting now Legal in South Australia

Recent changes to the laws concerning window tinting in South Australia now enable the front passenger and driver side windows of vehicles to be tinted darker than was previously available.

From January 1st 2010, the minimum legal Visible Light Transmission (VLT) of these windows is now 35%, which now means South Australia has the same laws as other states around the country.

Visible Light Transmission is the measurement of light that passes through a surface.  The higher the VLT, the more light is let through.

Previously, only VLTs of 70% and over were legal on the front passenger and driver windows.
