Cleaning Your SunGard Film
Your window must remain closed for at least 24 hours after installation.

Your film is made of polyester, which is tough and scratch-resistant. But although it is tough, film is not as hard as glass, and can be damaged by abrasion or unkind treatment.

Here are some simple rules which will prolong the life of your film:

• Do not clean it at all for at least 4 weeks of installation
• Do not attach anything at all to it with adhesive or suction cups
• Never clean it with abrasives
• Never clean it with ammonia
• Never use a brush to clean it
• Do use warm water and detergent
• Do use methylated spirits and water
• Do use a clean sponge or soft cloth
• We recommend Protect-All to clean, polish and preserve your film. Protect- All is available form most tint shops and Sun-Gard Australia

After Installation…
Like all products that use adhesive, the adhesive must cure to achieve a proper bond to the glass. Once the adhesive has cured, your windows will look very much as thought they have been factory-tinted. You may see some changes in the appearance of the film while it is curing.

Change are normal at this time.

Although the film appears perfect at first, you may see it become hazy and milky, or develop an “orange peel affect” or even large bubbles. This is quite normal, and should not cause alarm. After curing, these apparent imperfections will disappear.

Curing takes from 3 to 30 days, depending on the weather, humidity and the amount of sunlight falling on the glass. As you would expect, curing tends to be faster in summer and slower in winter.

Above all, do not touch the film until curing is complete.

A few small particles or “points” may remain. They are usually visible only from the outside and are inherent in film adhesive. Any such points do not affect the performance of life of the film in any way.
